"The name of the weapon says it all! High Power = High Versatility... or so we think. We’re better off calling this Lo-Power."
General Information
The Browning Hi-Power is a Belgian pistol manufactured by Fabrique Nationale, and is chambered in the 9mm and .40 S&W cartridges.
In-game, the Hi-Power is a quick, above average weapon firing from a 13-round magazine. Players can expect to kill in two shots to the head at all ranges, and can always expect a 4-shot kill at the most extreme of distances. The weapon quickly reloads from an average magazine capacity, helping to ensure minimal downtime between magazine dumps. As with other pistols, rapidly firing the Hi-Power will ramp up the weapon's spread to a point that it is nearly unusable at range.
Pros & Cons
Pros:
- Shares relatively high rate of fire with some other pistols.
- High headshot damage at all ranges, with a two-shot kill potential.
- Above average damage at close range.
- High 13-round magazine.
Cons:
- High spread penalty.
Trivia
- The Hi-Power's weapon model appears to have been reused from Typical Colors 2, found in-game as the Pistol, as the Flanker and Mechanic's stock secondary.
- At the time, the Hi-Power had almost two times the magazine capacity of contemporary pistols, notable examples being the Luger and Colt M1911, firing from 8 and 7-round box magazines respectively. This is the reason the weapon is named the Hi-Power.
